Condition per the receiving record: 95% new, genuine Omron product, refurbished and function-tested, boxed. Each box label reads the same: TYPE H5CZ-L8D, VOLTS 12 to 24VAC/DC, N6, LOT NO. 17330, QTY. 1, MADE IN CHINA, with the Omron barcode 45458531086784 — a single lot, four boxes.

Reading the face and the shell

The H5CZ is Omron's slim 48 × 48 plug-in digital timer: an LCD that reads out the set and elapsed values, a MODE key and RST key at the left, and four up/down keys across the bottom — one per digit — which is how a fitter sets a two-minute delay in the dark without a menu. The timing range spans 0.001 s to 9999 h across the selectable time units, printed right on the shell beside the moulded legend: OMRON H5CZ-L8D TIMER, OMRON Corporation, Kyoto, 600-8530 JAPAN — and, one line below, MADE IN CHINA. Both printings are factory-original: the Kyoto address is the corporate imprint, the China line the build origin, and the shell carries both without contradiction. The contact block is rated 250 VAC / 30 VDC at 5 A resistive, with the HP and pilot-duty figures — 1/4 HP 120 VAC, 1/3 HP 240 VAC, B300 — and the IEC categories AC-15 3 A, AC-13 5 A, DC-13 0.5 A printed alongside the UL (E314634), CE, EAC, cRUus and CCC marks. A K/P selector on the side flips the output mode, and the shell notes the companion socket: Omron P2CF-08K-E.

Where the H5CZ earns its slot

The 48 mm plug-in format is the service electrician's favourite for one reason: the timer unplugs from its socket. When a process timer starts drifting or dies, the swap is a thirty-second job with a screwdriver — no rewiring, no panel downtime beyond the pull.
