What is the D60BV-12 fan?
The D60BV-12 is a 60 mm-class DC axial cooling fan from Yate Loon Electronics (YL FAN) — the (GP) general-purpose build running on DC 12 V at 0.50 A, with the yellow hub label carrying the cUL US and CE marks. Why the third wire matters at 60 mm
At 60 mm the fan is small enough to fail silently: it can stop in a sealed power supply or controller box and nothing downstream would know until the thermals climb. That is why the three-wire build exists — the yellow conductor is a tachometer output, two pulses per revolution, that the host board reads; if the fan stalls or is unplugged, the controller raises an alarm instead of cooking its own components. It is also the wire that decides compatibility at replacement time: a two-wire fan of the same frame will spin in place of a failed D60BV-12, but the board waiting for tach pulses will flag a fan error. Match all three conductors and the white 3-pin housing when ordering. The (GP) suffix marks the general-purpose sleeve-bearing build for horizontal or vertical mounting in free air — the right fit inside power supplies and electronics enclosures, where the airflow path is short and the pressure demand is modest.
