What is the Delta FFB1424VHG fan?

The FFB1424VHG is Delta's 140 × 140 × 38 mm DC brushless axial fan — the high-airflow server-grade format that inverter cabinets and power shelves use when a 120 mm fan cannot keep up. The white hub label reads the full identity: DC BRUSHLESS, MODEL FFB1424VHG, DC24V 1.37A, -4K1S, with the CE, cULus (RU), CSA, TÜV and VDE marks (866-R-87164), DELTA ELECTRONICS, INC., MADE IN THAILAND, part code F231730. This record is a pair of factory-new fans, one-year-equivalent new stock as recorded at intake on 10 January 2026. All eleven photos and the inspection video show these exact fans.

Why cabinets specify the 14038

The 140 × 38 mm format is the sweet spot between airflow and noise that cabinet designers land on: a 140 mm rotor moves the air of two 92 mm fans at less total power and less acoustic mess, and the 38 mm depth gives the blades enough chord to keep static pressure up through filters and finger guards. At 24 V and 1.37 A this Delta unit draws about 33 watts — a known, budgetable load for any 24 V rail — and the yellow tach lead feeds fan-speed back to the controller so a stopped fan raises an alarm before the heatsink does. The ball-bearing construction visible at the hub is the service-life detail: ball bearings hold their speed rating through the years of continuous duty a VFD cabinet runs, where sleeve-bearing fans would long since have dried out.

The pair in this record are factory Delta product through and through: the white labels with the full certification row — including the VDE 866-R-87164 file number — the Thailand manufacture line, and the moulded strain relief where the lead set exits the frame. For a drive cabinet, a power shelf or any 14038 slot, they are direct drop-ins with the plugs already fitted.
