ISOFLEX TOPAS NB 52 and ISOFLEX NBU 15 are both used in high-speed spindles but are NOT interchangeable. NB 52 uses PAO base oil and is optimized for the highest speed range. NBU 15 uses ester base oil, providing inherently lower friction coefficient and better low-temperature performance. For spindles above 1.2 million DN, choose NB 52. For moderate-speed spindles with frequent cold starts or in cooler climates, NBU 15's ester base may provide better overall performance.

Q: Can ISOFLEX NBU 15 be used at temperatures below -40°C?
ISOFLEX NBU 15 is rated to -40°C minimum. For temperatures below -40°C, ISOFLEX NCA 15 (rated to -60°C) is the appropriate specification. At extremely low temperatures, the grease's starting torque increases as the base oil viscosity rises — even synthetic oils thicken significantly as they approach their pour point. NCA 15's special calcium thickener and low-viscosity ester base oil are formulated to maintain adequate pumpability and low starting torque at arctic temperatures.
