Fitting notes

Spin-on separators carry the whole oil/air separation stage in one replaceable can: the element coalesces oil mist out of the compressed air and returns it to the sump through the internal scavenge path. Change interval follows hours-run and oil condition — a saturated separator shows up as oil carry-over downstream and rising differential pressure across the element. Hand-tight per the printed instructions; a strap wrench is for removal, not install.
