Omron CP1L-L14DR-D Compact PLC: Complete Technical Guide and Applications
On this page
What is the Omron CP1L-L14DR-D?
The CP1L-L14DR-D is an Omron SYSMAC CP1L compact PLC: 14 built-in I/O points — eight 24 V DC inputs and six relay outputs — powered from 24 V DC, programmed over the front USB port, and expandable to the right with CP1W option boards and expansion units. The intake record books one unit; the photo set covers two, from different builds — lot 10Y09S, Ver. 1.0, and lot 29Y19S, Ver. 1.1 — both new in Omron boxes with manuals. All 8 photos and 1 video below show these exact units.

Reading the L in the model name
Omron's CP1L family scales by I/O count and the model letter carries it: the L14 is the 14-point starter size, sitting below the M and E frames. The suffixes finish the picture — DR means relay outputs on a DC-powered CPU, and the trailing D confirms 24 V DC supply, the same rail most machine panels already run. Eight sink/source inputs on the top terminal row take standard 24 V sensors, six dry relay contacts on the bottom row switch up to 2 A each, and the USB port behind the PERIPHERAL door is where CX-Programmer connects — no option board needed for programming. The BKUP LED matters in service: it lights while memory-backup data is being written, and the manual's warning to leave power on until it clears is worth honouring. The EXP connector to the right takes CP1W expansion for when fourteen points stop being enough — which is exactly what the M-frame models on KOEED's shelf, like the CP1L-M60DR-D, already carry built in.
