BIN95 Opens Free PLC Programming Training Hub as Skills Gap Widens
hub, publishing a structured series of hands-on lessons at no cost and with no registration required. The timing is deliberate. Industrial automation is scaling faster than the workforce able to program and maintain it, and free, simulation-backed instruction removes the two hardest barriers to entry: cost and access to hardware. For plant operators, educators and career-changers, the announcement
Detail
The initiative is aimed at students, technicians and working industrial professionals, and its distribution spans building & construction, education, food & beverage, manufacturing and waste management. In each of those verticals, the constraint on automation is no longer the controller , it is the person who can commission it.
The hub is organised around a "learn by doing" sequence: a Getting Started guide followed by seven practical PLC programming exercises. Rather than a library of theory articles, each lesson requires the learner to build, test, break and correct a running program.
Coverage runs from ladder logic creation and editing through the PLC processor scan sequence, data files and timers, and onward to realistic production scenarios. The advanced exercises include a timed car wash sequence, bit shift right and bit shift left instructions, and a simulated bottling line application.
The free series progresses from fundamentals to multi-instruction industrial applications:
creating and editing ladder logic, the processor scan sequence, data files, timers and counters.
build the program, test it, identify incorrect behaviour, edit the ladder logic, re-run and confirm correct operation.
maintains tank pressure, calls an assist compressor as demand rises, tracks compressor usage, balances primary/secondary operation, resets service totals and initialises program memory.
