Moeller D-NZM10 Rotary Drive Mechanism: Complete Guide for Industrial Circuit Breaker Applications
On this page
What is the Moeller D-NZM10?
The D-NZM10 is the rotary operating mechanism — the door-mount handle drive — for Moeller's (now Eaton's) NZM10 moulded-case circuit breaker: a long grey housing that bolts over the breaker and turns its toggle into a shaft-operated rotary handle, so the breaker can be switched and reset from behind a closed cabinet door with the door-interlock function the raw toggle can't provide. The steel shaft at the centre engages the breaker's toggle; the face carries the TRIP → OFF → ON indication arc and the green position indicator strip; the label restates the NZM10 frame ratings (Ue 500 V AC 50/60 Hz, 220 V DC) and the NHI/VHI/RHI accessory options. The factory box reads Auslöserblock / Trip block, Made in Germany. One unit, ~99% condition in original packaging, 1-year warranty as recorded. All 10 photos and 1 video below show this exact unit.

What the rotary drive adds to the breaker
An NZM10 breaker on its own is toggled by hand — fine on an open chassis, useless on a closed door. The D-NZM10 changes the interface: it mounts over the breaker, its steel shaft couples to the toggle, and the operating point moves to a rotary handle that penetrates the enclosure door. That buys three things panels need: switching without opening the door (arc-safe operation), a genuine door interlock — the mechanism physically blocks the door while the breaker is ON — and a trip indication legible from across the room, since the TRIP position on the arc sits between OFF and ON and only resets through the handle. The mechanism carries no sensing of its own; the ratings on its label simply repeat the NZM10 frame so the assembly is specified as one unit. Fitting is mechanical — the housing bridges over the breaker, the shaft seats on the toggle, the bezel cuts through the door — and because Moeller's NZM family carried into Eaton's catalogue, this German-built piece remains the standard door operator for NZM10 frames still in service. KOEED stocks NZM-frame breakers to pair with it, such as the NZM10-400N.
