Pre-shipment Inspection Record: This document details the visual and technical inspection of the Omron E2E-X4B1D8-M3 Inductive Proximity Sensor: Complete Technical Guide. All product photos and testing videos below are original materials captured first-hand by the Koeed technical team in our warehouse prior to dispatch.

What is the Omron E2E-X4B1D8-M3?

The E2E-X4B1D8-M3 is an Omron E2E-series inductive proximity sensor in the M18 short-barrel build with the M12 connector tail (the -M3 suffix): a 4 mm rated sensing distance in a PNP normally-open output, supplied 10 to 30 V DC (Class 2) at up to 100 mA, plugged into the standard cordset rather than wired with flying leads. The factory bag states the identity and its origin plainly: TYPE E2E-X4B1D8-M3, PROXIMITY SENSOR, VOLTS 10 to 30 VDC class 2, LOT No. 14219M, QTY 1, MADE IN CHINA — made at Omron's Shanghai works, with the cULus certification (LR75190, E9T SF4, Type 1) and the CE and EAC marks beside. Each set includes two brass lock nuts, a serrated washer and the Japanese instruction sheet. Ten sets, new, as recorded at intake. All 5 photos and 1 video below show these exact sensors.

The M18 with the connector, and what the suffixes fix

The E2E family is Omron's volume cylindrical line, and this variant assembles the three choices a panel designer makes most often. The M18 barrel gives the standard 4 mm flush-mount sensing geometry — thread it into the tapped plate, clamp with the two brass nuts, and the black face reads steel targets through coolant mist at 4 mm. The B1 in the string sets the electronics to PNP normally-open, the sourcing-output convention of European control wiring: metal in, the output sources 24 V to the PLC input. The -M3 tail trades flying leads for the 4-pin M12 connector — the plug that makes a failed sensor a two-minute swap, no terminal work, and the reason connector-type sensors dominate maintenance stock. The Class 2 listing with the 100 mA Type 1 figure is the supply-side note: power it from a Class 2 source per the UL file and the installation keeps its rating without extra fusing. These units are Omron's Chinese production for the domestic market — MADE IN CHINA printed on every bag with the Shanghai free-trade-zone address, lot 14219M traceable on each label. Ten factory sets are photographed here: enough for a line refresh or a maintenance van's sensor drawer.

Lock nuts and washer
The included hardware: two brass lock nuts and the serrated washer resting on the multilingual Omron instruction sheet — the clamping set for a standard M18 bracket.
Sensor in bag
The sensor in its bag: the short M18 barrel with its full thread, the sensing face at the head, and the connector tail at the other end.
M12 connector
The connector end through the film: the 4-pin M12 receptacle — the plug that makes replacement a two-minute job.
