Replacement notes
The 28 mm depth is what separates this fan from the common 25 mm 4015s: more blade area, more static pressure, and enough push to matter in a stacked drive cage — which is also why it is louder and why the PWM lead matters. Match the connector orientation before crimping anything; the four wires follow the standard server-fan order on the stock plug. When a chassis fan of this class dies, the usual symptom is a tacho reading of zero with the blades still spinning, so trust the tacho line over your ears when deciding whether the replacement is actually needed.
