Allen-Bradley 2080-L50E-24QWB Micro850 PLC: Complete Technical Guide and Applications
On this page
What is the Allen-Bradley 2080-L50E-24QWB?
The 2080-L50E-24QWB is an Allen-Bradley Micro850 programmable controller — Rockwell's mid-size Micro800-class PLC with the EtherNet/IP port built in: 24 universal inputs accepting 24 VDC or 24 VAC (50/60 Hz), relay outputs in the C300/R150 contact-rating class usable on AC or DC loads, and the 24 VDC Class 2 (28 W) supply input that powers the controller. The label set is complete: CAT 2080-L50E-24QWB, series B, firmware 22.011, serial 331304, MAC ID BC:F4:99:1D:AE:AC — a November 2025 build, product of Singapore, arriving with the Rockwell FACTORY SEAL still across the carton flaps. Approvals run the full industrial stack: CE, UKCA, KC, cULus Listed (Ind. Cont. Eq.), 3WD5, T4 temperature code (−20 °C to +65 °C), and the hazardous-locations rating (Class I Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D). One unit, new in the factory-sealed box, 1-year warranty as recorded at intake. All 9 photos and 1 video below show this exact controller.

Where the Micro850 sits in the Rockwell line
The Micro850 is the tier of the Micro800 family that behaves like a real plant controller: it programs in Connected Components Workbench, talks EtherNet/IP natively — so it sits on the same network as PanelView terminals, PowerFlex drives and bigger ControlLogix systems without a gateway — and takes the 2080 plug-in expansion modules along its right side when the 24-input count runs out. The universal inputs are the practical half of the "24QWB" string: each input accepts a 24 V DC sensor signal or a 24 V AC signal at mains frequency, which is exactly what a mixed-vintage panel needs when some sensors are two-wire DC proximities and others are legacy AC limit switches. The relay outputs land on the C300/R150 contact class — rated for the lamp, solenoid and small-contactor loads these controllers actually drive, on either AC or DC. The front panel carries the familiar LED row (POWER, RUN, FAULT, FORCE, COMM) and the mode switch, the removable terminal blocks make panel wiring and controller replacement two different jobs, and the slot on the front takes the 2080-SD memory card for program transfer without a laptop. This example is the cleanest condition a spare can arrive in: factory seal intact, November 2025 Singapore build, firmware 22.011 on series B hardware — a current-production controller, not a shelf relic.
