What is the Korloy CNMG120408-HA PC9030?
The CNMG120408-HA is a Korloy indexable turning insert in the standard CNMG format — an 80° diamond with a moulded chipbreaker, a centre fixing hole and four usable edges — in the PC9030 PVD-coated grade, with CNMG432-HA as its equivalent inch-series callout. The box label does the specification work: M-marked for stainless steel as the primary group (P and K also in range), depth of cut 1.75 mm (0.80-3.50), feed 0.20 mm/rev (0.10-0.40), cutting speed 135 m/min (443 sfm), grade/geometry code KRRC732, made in Korea. The record holds 10 factory boxes of 10 — 100 inserts — lot 0001386746, all new. All 6 photos below show these exact inserts.

What the CNMG name tells the machinist
The ISO code is a full spec sheet in nine characters. C is the 80° diamond that suits both OD turning and facing; N is the negative rake that gives edge strength on heavier cuts; M is the medium tolerance grind; G means a one-sided insert with a fixing hole; 12/04 set the 12.7 mm edge and 4.76 mm thickness; 08 is the 0.8 mm corner radius that balances finish against corner strength; and HA is Korloy's chipbreaker carve, the wavy 3D moulding visible on the rake face that curls the chip and breaks it before it tangles. The PC9030 grade over it is a fine-grain carbide under a PVD coating, box-marked into the M group for stainless and alloy steels with P and K in range — one insert family that covers the mixed job-shop work. With four corners per side, a hundred inserts is four hundred edges: order the matching CNMG holder and the box covers a long stretch of turning. KOEED carries more of the Korloy line, such as the CCMT09T304 in the same PC9030 grade.
