LG EAX66228906 (1.0) Industrial Automation PLC Motherboard: Technical Specifications and Applications
On this page
What is the LG EAX66228906 (1.0) board?
Note on the listing title: it calls this an "Industrial Automation PLC Motherboard" — the board is a display mainboard, not a PLC. The EAX66228906 (1.0) is an LG mainboard for the company's commercial-display and hospitality television line: the silk screen carries the platform family (E*53E, variants A.B.C.D.J.L.T.E), the board number EAX66228906(1.0), the design date 15.05.08 and the 265 × 206 mm panel size. What it drives explains the port cluster: two LVDS connectors for the LCD panel, five HDMI inputs, three USB ports (one USB 3.0), an RJ45 Ethernet jack, an RS-232C control port, composite AV, and an RF tuner module (EBL61560402 / TDJM-C451D) — with the BAR CODE and MAC ADDRESS silkscreen that marks LG's networked signage and Pro:Centric hospitality builds. This is the board that brings a 2015-generation LG commercial screen back to life when its own has failed. One board, new, 3-month warranty as recorded at intake. All 8 photos and 1 video below show this exact board.

What this board runs, and why it fails
LG's commercial displays — the hotel televisions, digital-signage screens and Pro:Centric builds that fill lobbies and hospitals — are consumer televisions underneath, wearing a service chassis. Their mainboards integrate the SoC, the panel driver, the tuner and the network stack, and they fail the way consumer boards do: a regulator lets go, a solder joint on the HDMI cluster cracks, or the tuner module dies while the panel is fine. The EAX66228906 is that generation's board — the E53E platform from mid-2015, the design date printed beside the board number — and the port cluster tells its story: five HDMI inputs for the media players and set-top boxes a hospitality install hangs on it, the RS-232C port for the property-management control system, Ethernet for the Pro:Centric content server, and the RF tuner for the coax plant that hotels still run. The MAC ADDRESS and BAR CODE silkscreens are the provisioning fields LG's setup scripts read when a screen joins the network. Fitting is a board-level swap: four screws, the LVDS and connector harnesses, and the screen returns with factory-fresh video. One new board is photographed here — the fix for the display that shows a backlight but no picture.
