Q: Why don't SKF greases have DN ratings as high as KLÜBER ISOFLEX?
The DN rating limitation is primarily due to thickener technology. Barium complex thickeners (ISOFLEX TOPAS) provide superior mechanical stability under the extreme shear conditions in ultra-high-speed spindles. Polyurea thickeners (SKF LGHP 2, LGHB 2) are excellent for most applications but soften more rapidly at DN values above 1 million mm·rpm. For spindles operating at the highest speed ranges, ISOFLEX TOPAS's 2 million DN rating provides the necessary engineering margin.
