What is the FUTABA FP1783A power supply?
The FP1783A is Futaba's open-frame switching power supply — a 12.3 V, 9.17 A unit in a U-shaped aluminium chassis, universal-input from 100 to 240 V AC. The side label reads it plainly: MODEL NO. FP1783A, INPUT :100V-240V ~ 2.4-1.6A, 50/60Hz, OUTPUT :12.3V — 9.17A / 100V-240V 1.0A 50/60Hz, with the FUTABA name and the RU mark; the board silk carries FP1783A and MADE IN JAPAN. This listing's original title called it an HMI touch panel; the photographed hardware corrects that — it is a power supply. One unit, tested pull at 80% condition with a warranty as recorded across its two intakes on 8 December 2025 (one booking one month, one three months — both stated). All eighteen photos and the two inspection videos show this exact unit.

Where this supply belongs
A single-rail 12.3 V / 9 A open-frame supply is the classic backend for a display-driven machine — the rail that feeds a backlight chain, a controller board and its fans from one source. Futaba built the FP1783A for exactly that duty, and the construction shows it: the universal input means one part covers 100 V and 230 V plants, the X2 film caps and the two-stage choke keep the conducted noise inside limits, and the main transformer plus the FET bank on their heatsink carry the hundred-watt load continuously. The aux transformers run the standby and bias rails that let the host logic come up before the main output settles — the sequencing a display system needs to avoid a garbage first frame.
The unit in this record is a tested pull photographed from every side: label legible, heatsink fins straight, board silk and component codes all original. For a machine whose FP1783A has failed — and whose alternatives are a full display assembly — this is the board-level fix at a fraction of the cost: verify the rail voltage against the dead unit, land the four wires, and the machine is back.
