Pre-shipment Inspection Record: This document details the visual and technical inspection of the Panasonic AFP87522 Programmable Logic Controller: Advanced Industrial Automation Solution. All product photos and testing videos below are original materials captured first-hand by the Koeed technical team in our warehouse prior to dispatch.

What is the Panasonic AFP87522?

The AFP87522 is a Panasonic (NAIS / Matsushita Electric Works) FP I/O transmitter unit — the RT-FP8 remote I/O module that collects sixteen 24 V DC inputs and transmits them to an FP-series PLC over the RT bus, so the title's "Programmable Logic Controller" needs one clarification: this is the remote transmitter end of an FP system, not the CPU. The face carries the full identification: NAIS FP I/O TRANSMITTER UNIT 16-INPUT (24V DC) AFP87522, with the TRNET bus mark, POWER/COM./ALARM LEDs, a STATION NO. rotary switch for the RT-network address, a 1-4 MODE SW. dipswitch, and the EXPANDER CONNECTOR cover at the right. The terminal field runs 0–9 then A–F (sixteen inputs, each with + and −), plus 24 V DC supply, two RS-485 ports and F.G. earth, all on screw terminals. The unit is marked Matsushita Electric Works, Ltd. — Made in Japan; the original NAIS box labels it AFP87522 / FP I/O TRANSMITTER UNIT / 1 PC, dated 970807 (7 August 1997), and the case back carries the Ver.11 sticker. New in original packaging per the record (about 2 kg); it passed through the Koeed warehouse on 27 October 2025, and the seven photos and video below show it as received.

Integration notes

In a Panasonic FP installation this unit sits at the far end of the RT pair: sensors wire to the sixteen input terminals (0–F), the RS-485 ports carry the RT link back to the transmitter-side network, the STATION NO. dial gives the unit its address on that link, and the MODE SW. sets the operating options. Because it is a 1997 Japan build, expect the LED/lamp conventions of the era and power it from a clean 24 V DC rail on the marked terminals. The unit arrives boxed and unmounted, with the blue DIN clips sprung and the terminal screws all in place — a straight bolt-in replacement for a failed RT-FP8 station, matched by the AFP87522 order number.
