Where the EL2809 fits

In a Beckhoff EtherCAT system, the EL terminals clip to a 35 mm DIN rail behind a bus coupler and turn the EtherCAT telegram into raw field signals. The EL2809 is the dense end of that range: sixteen outputs in the standard 12 mm housing, wired through push-in spring terminals — outputs 1 to 8 down the left row, 9 to 16 down the right, with the 24 V feed shared through the power contacts so a single feed covers all sixteen channels. Each channel drives a red LED on the top face, so a technician reading the terminal from the cabinet door sees the machine state channel by channel without a meter.
