EG-101P Digital Counter: Advanced Measurement and Control Solution for Industrial Automation

What is the Mitutoyo EG-101P?
The EG-101P is Mitutoyo's counter display unit (Code No. 542-015) — the panel counter that reads Mitutoyo's linear gauge sensors and drives sorting or eject decisions on a measuring line. The face carries the identity and the whole operator interface: Mitutoyo over the EG-10P marking, the UNIT and BANK status LEDs, the TIR / MAX / MIN measurement legends, and the four-key row — BANK, Fn, MODE, P.SET — over a double-height display. The rear is the working half: a 6-pin DIN INPUT socket for the gauge, a DB25 parallel OUTPUT port for the PLC or sorter, the DC IN 12-24 V 500 mA terminal block, and the label with Code No. 542-015, Model EG-101P, serials 008951 and 003329, Mitutoyo Corporation, Made in Japan (Kawasaki). Two units, second-hand pulls at 90% condition, 3-month warranty as recorded at intake. All 4 photos below show these exact units.

What the EG-101P does on a measuring line
Mitutoyo's linear gauges — the probing heads that ride a machined surface and report displacement — need a counter to turn their signal into a number, a tolerance band and a go/no-go decision, and the EG-101P is that counter. The BANK system is its working core: each bank holds a set of preset values and tolerances, so an operator can switch between part programmes with the BANK key while Fn and MODE page the functions and P.SET writes the presets — the measuring cell re-armed for the next part in seconds. The TIR, MAX and MIN legends mark the measurement modes the unit runs — total indicator runout and the peak-hold functions that checking a bore or a journal requires. On the back, the DB25 parallel port hands the judgement to the line: pass, over, under, wired straight into the PLC that opens the good-part gate. Made at Mitutoyo's Kawasaki works, these two pulled units at 90% condition are the pragmatic grade for a measuring station whose display has died — the gauge and the fix are both still in production lineage, and the counters photographed here are tested pulls, not shelf rust.
