What is the Fuji Electric AC09-GZ rotary switch?

The AC09-GZ is a Fuji Electric FA digital rotary (code band) switch — the thumb-rotated code switch that sits behind an instrument bezel and outputs a binary-coded position on ten solder pads labelled GFED and CBA (the four code bits plus common). This unit arrives as the complete factory kit: the switch body on its mounting bracket with the brass shaft and threaded bushing, the black pointer knob, the washer set, the mounting screw, and a white 12-pin connector for the solder pads. The label reads Fuji Electric FA / Rotary Switch / Type AC09-GZ / 4607 Made in Japan, with GFED CBA printed below; another bag label reads AC09-GZ0/25 / L3E/0007. The octagonal front wheel is printed A through Z plus 0-1-2 positions around its rim. New in original packaging with factory film and bags; it passed through the Koeed warehouse on 15 November 2025 (about 0.5 kg per the record), and the nine photos and video below show it as received.

Setting and wiring

This switch is set with a screwdriver, not a knob in service: rotate the brass shaft so the dial index points at the required letter/number position, and the BCD-style code on the GFED pads changes accordingly — read the truth table from the Fuji documentation for your panel. The solder pads suit either direct soldering or the supplied 12-pin connector; if you use the connector, crimp the wires before offering it to the pads so the solder joints stay cold. The white index line on the black knob shows the set position through the bezel once mounted. Everything arrives in factory bags — knob, washers, screw, connector — so the fit is complete without extra parts.
