What this delivery is: one Omron H7CX-A11-N multifunction counter, used, pulled from service and sold as-is with our standard check — received 2025-10-17, 0.5 kg, one piece, Made in China per the shell print. The H7CX-A11-N is the AC-supplied 8-digit preset counter in Omron's 48 × 48 panel-mount family: the shell legend reads OMRON H7CX-A11-N COUNTER, OMRON Corporation, MADE IN CHINA, with SOURCE 100–240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 9.4 VA max printed beside the wiring diagram — the A11 suffix is the mains-supply build, so it hangs straight off a control transformer with no DC supply needed.

What the shell tells you before wiring

The rear face is a working reference card. The SWITCH SELECTION table maps every DIP switch: counting speed at 30 / 1k / 5k cps, input mode UP or DOWN, output time 0.5 s or 0.05 s, input signal width 20 ms or 1 ms, and NPN or PNP input polarity — so configuration is a screwdriver job on the switches, not a dive into menus. The output is a contact block rated 250 VAC 5 A resistive and 30 VDC 3 A resistive, with the motor and pilot figures printed alongside — 1/4 HP at 120 VAC, 1/3 HP at 240 VAC, B300 pilot duty — plus cULus Listed and CE marks. The front carries the large LCD, the MODE and RST keys at the left, and six digit keys across the bottom — one per preset digit — which is how the set-point gets entered in the panel, in the dark, without a laptop. The counter unplugs from an octal round-pin socket, so a swap is a screwdriver-and-two-minutes job.

Buying a used counter

A service-pulled H7CX is a sensible buy for two reasons: the part has no wear-out consumable — the LCD and keys either work or they do not, and ours have been checked — and the DIP-switch configuration means a used unit drops into an existing panel without reprogramming. Check two things on arrival against your old unit: the DIP switch positions (photograph the old board before you pull it) and the preset value stored in memory, which survives power-off and may belong to the previous machine. One honesty note from the record: this unit carries an in-service inspection sticker from its previous owner; we leave it on rather than cosmetically strip a used part.
