ABB A16-30-01 PLC Contactor: Comprehensive Guide to Industrial Motor Control Solutions
On this page
What is the ABB A16-30-01?
The A16-30-01 is an ABB line contactor: three main poles (1/L1, 3/L2, 5/L3 in; 2/T1, 4/T2, 6/T3 out) plus one built-in auxiliary contact — the -01 suffix means it is normally closed, on terminals 21-22 — with the coil wired A1-A2 at 110/120 V, 50/60 Hz. The A-frame is the 16 A AC-3 class; the rating table on the top cover starts at 4 kW on 230 V and 7.5 kW on 400 V. The record holds 2 units, new in original packaging, made in China, coil code R84. All 7 photos and 1 video below show the exact units covered by this record.

How the -01 contact earns its place
The "-30-01" suffix reads as three poles, zero built-in N.O. contacts, one N.C. contact — and that single 21-22 pair is what most starters actually need. It breaks the coil circuit of the same contactor (seal-in wiring) or feeds the "running" lamp on the door, without buying a separate side-mounted auxiliary block. The coil at 110/120 V 50/60 Hz is the standard control-transformer voltage in North American-style panels; a control circuit running at other voltages would need the matching coil code instead. Terminals take AWG 10-18 stranded copper at roughly 1 N·m, and the body snaps to a 35 mm DIN rail or screws down on 50, 55 or 60 mm centres — the three-way hole pattern is moulded into the base. KOEED's A-series stock covers other frames and coil voltages, including the larger A50-30-11 at 220-230 V and the A50-30-11 at 24 V AC.
