Fotek DSC-265 Digital Power Regulator: Advanced SCR Technology for Industrial Automation
On this page
What is the Fotek DSC-265?
The DSC-265 is Fotek's three-phase SCR power regulator — the semiconductor module (半導體模塊) that sits between a temperature controller and a heater bank and throttles the mains to match what the controller asks. This assembly ships complete: the DSC-265 regulator head with its dual four-digit LED display and SET / F / ▲ keys, an extruded aluminium heatsink, a 12 V axial fan the regulator powers from its own FAN terminals, a fuse carrier, and the transparent terminal cover — one bolt-together unit rated 65 A maximum on a 220 VAC ±20% supply at 50/60 Hz, made in Taiwan by Fotek Controls. Control is either a TIC (thermocouple/current) input on terminals 1-2 or an external 10 kΩ potentiometer (VR-B103), which makes the unit at home both behind a PID loop and behind a manual knob. Four units, new in Fotek factory boxes — two of LOT 2516 and two of LOT 2527, matching the two intake purchases — 1-year warranty as recorded. All 17 photos and 2 videos below show these exact regulators.

Why the SCR regulator still owns the heater panel
A contactor cycles a heater fully on and fully off; an SCR regulator throttles it — slicing the sine wave or gating whole cycles so the delivered power lands exactly where the loop wants it. For extruders, ovens, mould temperature controllers and any process where a few degrees matter, that is the difference between hunting and holding. The DSC-265 carries that job in Fotek's standard layout: the phase-angle or burst-fired SCR bank mounted on the extruded heatsink, the fan forced across the fins from the regulator's own 12 V auxiliary output (so the cooling can never be forgotten at wiring time), the fuse carrier upstream for the short-circuit case, and the clear cover keeping fingers off the 65 A lugs. The face is a working instrument, not just a cover — two LED readouts show setpoint and feedback at once, the SET key pages the parameters, and the yellow warning card over the terminals spells out in two languages the two mistakes that kill regulators: power line not matching the load, and input type not matching the wiring. The dual control inputs decide the panel architecture: wire a thermocouple straight into terminals 1-2 for a standalone loop, or land a 10 kΩ signal from the plant's PID controller for supervised control. Two production lots (2516 and 2527) make up this record — four boxed Taiwan-built units, two for the line and two for the shelf.
