What is the HP DPS-800GB A?
The DPS-800GB A is the common hot-plug power supply of HP's ProLiant generation — an 800 W-class module built by Delta to HP's spec (Series HSTNS-PD05, P/N 379123-001), with the autorange input that makes the "800" figure only the beginning of the story: at 100 V input it delivers 800 W, at 110-120 V it stretches to 850 W, and at 200-240 V it reaches its full 1000 W maximum on the +12.15 V rail at up to 82.3 A, with +5 VSB, +3.3 VSB and −12 V standby rails behind it. It is an 80 PLUS Silver unit (85% balanced efficiency), certified FCC / CCC / CE / cULus E131881, made in Dongguan, China, and it slides into the server's PSU bay behind the maroon handle, where a green LED confirms AC presence. This record is eight units, 95% condition presenting as new, 1-year warranty as recorded at intake, each with its own serial in the ATZD0… series. All 11 photos and 1 video below show these exact supplies.

Why this PSU outlived its server
The DPS-800GB A earned its second life the way good server hardware does — by being overbuilt for the job. Delta's platform carries the full three-tier autorange table on its label because the same module shipped worldwide: plug it into a North American 100 V wall and it gives 800 W, into a European 230 V rack and the same silicon breathes out the full 1000 W at 82 A on the 12 V rail. The rail architecture is pure server thinking — one fat +12.15 V output feeding the board's VRMs, a 5 V standby keeping the iLO management processor alive with the server "off", and the small rails for legacy needs. The hot-swap side is what makes it a spares-bench staple: the maroon handle is the ejector and the grip, the green LED answers "is it alive?" without a console, and a failed unit slides out of a running chassis while its sibling carries the load. Eight tested units in the ATZD serial series are photographed here — one rack's worth of N+1 redundancy, or a repair bench's stock for every G6/G7-generation server that crosses it. The nameplate is worth reading before any cross-fit attempt: the series number (HSTNS-PD05) and the part number (379123-001) are what decide whether a module drops into a given bay, not the wattage figure alone.
