Yaskawa V1000 parameters: what to record before replacement
On this page
Which V1000 settings should you record before replacement?
Save the installed parameter set with the drive model, software information, motor nameplate and wiring reference. Review the control method, speed-reference and run-command sources, stopping behavior, duty selection, motor data, input assignments and protection settings. A drive that runs from the keypad may still be configured incorrectly for PLC control.

Record the settings by function
The following references come from U-spec manual SIEPC71060618. They identify settings to review, rather than values to copy into every machine.
| Reference | Purpose of the record |
|---|---|
| A1-02 | Identify the selected motor-control method. |
| b1-01 and b1-02 | Record the speed-reference source separately from the run-command source. |
| b1-03 | Record how the drive is configured to stop. |
| C1-01 and C1-02 | Record the first acceleration and deceleration times. |
| C6-01 | Check the selected duty basis. |
| E1 and E2 groups | Retain the applicable voltage, frequency and motor data. |
| H1 group | Record what the digital input terminals are assigned to do. |
| L1-01 | Record the motor-protection selection. |

Keep the settings with their context
Save the drive model, software information, motor nameplate and wiring reference alongside the parameter record. Include the communication configuration and any option-specific settings used by the machine.
The manual's Verify menu lists settings changed from defaults. That is useful for comparison, but a list of changed values alone is not a complete description of the machine. Defaults and available functions must still match the drive being installed.
Review changes before enabling motion
Yaskawa notes that changing A1-02 can also change other parameter values. Review the resulting configuration after changing the control method. Do not assume every previously entered setting remains intact.
During a planned replacement, verify the command sources, direction, stopping behavior and protective functions under the machine's approved test procedure. Keep personnel clear of possible motion and use the site's isolation procedure for electrical work.
What to include in a replacement enquiry
Send the full drive code, motor information and details of installed options. Identify any settings or software requirements that the replacement must support. For the BA0010 model, also check the normal-duty and heavy-duty ratings.
The manual guide links to Yaskawa's official document entry. Use Chapter 5 and Appendix B for the complete setting descriptions and restrictions.
Questions before the next step
Are b1-01 and b1-02 the same setting?
No. b1-01 selects the speed-reference source and b1-02 selects the run-command source. Record both because the machine can obtain these commands from different sources.
Can I change A1-02 and keep every other value unchanged?
Yaskawa notes that changing the control method in A1-02 can change other parameter values. Review the resulting configuration before enabling motion.
Keep configuration requirements with the enquiry
Send the drive code, motor information and installed options. Identify required software and settings that the proposed replacement must support.
