Samsung and NVIDIA Build AI Megafactory to Transform Semiconductor Manufacturing

Samsung Semiconductor and NVIDIA announced a joint AI Megafactory deployment to accelerate next-generation chips, devices and robotics.

AI Factory: end-to-end intelligent manufacturing

The AI Factory will integrate design, fabrication, equipment, operations and quality control into a single intelligent network powered by over 50,000 NVIDIA GPUs.

AI models will analyze, predict and optimize production in real time, enabling faster yield improvements and reduced development cycles.

Key technologies include digital twins via NVIDIA Omniverse, GPU-accelerated EDA tools, and OPC enhancements using CuLitho and CUDA-X.

Memory, compute and edge innovations

Samsung and NVIDIA are co-developing HBM4 using Samsung's 10nm DRAM and 4nm logic base die, targeting 11Gbps speeds—well above JEDEC's 8Gbps baseline.

Samsung will continue to supply HBM, GDDR and SOCAMM solutions and expand wafer foundry and advanced packaging services for the global AI value chain.

Edge and robotics progress includes NVIDIA Jetson Thor modules to enable on-device AI inference, safer operations and real-world decision making.

Samsung plans to scale the AI Factory to global sites including Taylor, Texas, and to extend AI acceleration across its manufacturing footprint.

Performance wins: enhanced OPC lifted computational lithography throughput by 20x, shortening tapeout cycles and improving pattern accuracy.

In EDA, GPU acceleration will speed simulation and verification, helping teams bring products to market faster.

AI-RAN collaboration with carriers, academia and research institutes aims to embed AI into mobile network architecture for low-latency edge intelligence.

This advances robotics, drones and industrial automation by moving real-time sensing and inference closer to the edge.

Strategic impact: the partnership links storage, logic, foundry and packaging capabilities with GPU-native software stacks, creating a competitive AI manufacturing ecosystem.
