Reading the relay

The HE1aN is Panasonic's high-capacity PCB relay line: a sealed black plastic body about 34 mm to a side, with heavy quick-connect blades on the flanks for the switched load and standard PCB pins for the coil and contact tail. The face print carries the ratings in two columns: 1.5HP 125V AC, 3HP 250V AC, 30A 277V AC, 30A 30V DC, TV-15 on the left; 30A 250V AC at power factor 1.0, 30A at power factor 0.4, 8A 110V DC, and the coil marked SPULE: 12V⎓ on the right. Approval marks run beneath — UL-style RU, the cURus mark, and TÜV — with MADE IN JAPAN at the bottom and a bottom-view internal wiring diagram printed beside them. The parts carry the Matsushita circular-M mark and lot code 10108W, with AHE1291 as the internal type code. Mounting notes

The load terminals want the external blades, not solder: crimp the quick-connects to cable rated for the current and leave the PCB carrying only the coil and the contact return. Keep the coil supply within the DC 12 V nominal — the sealed body tolerates panel dust but not sustained over-voltage on the coil, which cooks the armature gap over months. For orientation the printed bottom-view diagram is authoritative: mirror it mentally before drilling the board pattern.
