Huawei DCDU-12B DC Distribution Unit: Comprehensive Guide for Industrial Automation
On this page
What is the Huawei DCDU-12B?
The DCDU-12B is Huawei's 12-way DC power distribution unit for −48 V telecom and radio sites: one −48 V feed in at up to 160 A (on the two M8 studs under the RT(N+)/NEG(−) cover) and twelve individually breaker-protected load outputs — LOAD0 through LOAD11 — each rated 25 A maximum per the nameplate (the housing print lists 30 A fuse ratings on LOAD0-LOAD9), with 160 A combined. Every way is a hydraulic-magnetic breaker with a padlock eye and a red trip flag, so a faulted radio or router drops out on its own while the other eleven stay up. Huawei part number 02120731, model string TD1MDCDU12B0, made in China at Huawei's Bantian HQ, CE / UKCA / EAC / RCM / CCC marked. This record is three units, new in factory cartons with individual qualification cards — date codes 2023-10-06, 2025-01-06 and 2023-12-15 — 1-month warranty as recorded at intake. All 16 photos and 1 video below show these exact units.

Where the DCDU-12B sits in a site
A modern radio site runs on one −48 V plant — rectifiers and batteries — and everything hung on that plant needs its own protected tap: the baseband unit, each radio, the transmission gear, the routers. The DCDU-12B is that tap made tidy. One pair of studs lands the plant feed, and the twelve breakers hand out individually protected −48 V to twelve loads, each with a padlock eye for a site lockout and a red flag that shows at a glance which way tripped. The hydraulic-magnetic breaker is the telecom-standard choice for a reason: it trips on current, not on the heat ambient cabinets reach, so a warm shelter does not produce nuisance trips while a genuine short still drops the way instantly. The spare fuse bay under the OPEN cover and the clear input cover carrying the wiring instructions make the unit field-serviceable without a manual hunt. Physically it is a channel section meant to bolt to a cabinet wall or a site frame with the L-brackets at each end, the honeycomb vents breathing over the breaker row. The nameplate's 25 A per output is the continuous rating Huawei stands behind, while the housing's 30 A print is the fuse table — sites built to Huawei's own install guides treat the nameplate as the design limit. Three factory-fresh units with three distinct qualification cards are photographed here: mixed date codes, one spares shelf refreshed.
