This is such a challenging dilemma we face in procurement! On one hand, we absolutely need to maintain critical spare parts to keep our automated production lines running smoothly - any downtime can cost us thousands per hour. But on the other hand, automation technology seems to be evolving at lightning speed, with new systems and components coming out every 18 months or so.
