BP-287 Battery Pack for ICOM IC-R30 Receiver: Complete Industrial Automation Power Solution

What this delivery is: two ICOM BP-287 Li-ion rechargeable battery packs, brand new, received 2026-02-06, 0.5 kg for the pair, with a three-month warranty from us. The BP-287 is the standard battery for Icom's IC-R30 wideband communications receiver — the flat, tall pack that slides into the receiver's back — and each unit arrives with its own white specification label: RECHARGEABLE Li-ion BATTERY, ICOM BP-287, DC 3.6 V — 12 Wh, min. 3120 mAh, typ. 3280 mAh. The two packs carry individual unit barcodes — 692412800339 and 692412800335 — so they are traceable separately rather than one label shared across the lot.
Reading the label
The ratings deserve a word, because single-cell Li-ion packs are often advertised loose with numbers. This label states a minimum of 3120 mAh and a typical 3280 mAh at 3.6 V nominal, 12 Wh — which is the honest way to print a large single-cell pack: the minimum is the promise, the typical is the average cell, and the watt-hour figure is what airlines and shippers actually check. The shell carries moulded polarity and contact marks beside the four gold-plated pins on the face — those four contacts are how the pack talks to the receiver: two power, one thermistor, one ID — so the IC-R30 can read the pack and manage charging properly. The rear shell is plain textured black with the slide rails that lock into the receiver's battery bay.

Why spares for a receiver
The IC-R30 is a receiver, not a transmitter — a scanner-and-listen handheld that covers shortwave through VHF/UHF — and receivers get used the way radios in monitoring shacks get used: left on for whole shifts. Twelve watt-hours is a full day of casual listening but not a weekend, so anyone who runs one seriously carries a second charged pack. Two packs is the right spare arithmetic: one in the radio, one charged, and if you rotate them rather than leaving one idle for months, both age at the same even pace — which is kinder to lithium cells than storing a spare fully charged for a year.
