What is the Turck Bi30-M30-AZ3X sensor?
The Bi30-M30-AZ3X is a Turck inductive proximity sensor — an M30 threaded barrel with a 30 mm non-flush sensing distance and, unusually, a two-wire universal supply: the bag label reads 20…250 VAC at 3…400 mA and 10…300 VDC at 3…300 mA, so one sensor serves AC, DC or AC/DC control circuits with just the brown (BN) and blue (BU) leads, plus the green/yellow (GNYE) earth on the body. The label also prints Ident-No. 25030125, Sn: 30 mm, CE, CCC, and Made in China — Turck's own Chinese plant, so the intake note's "domestically made replacement" (国产替代) wording refers to ABB-style Chinese production of the genuine part, not a copy. Each sensor is a stainless barrel with a grey cable, a terminal compartment under a cover at the rear with a green status LED, and one hex nut in the bag. Why the AZ3X two-wire type matters
The AZ3X suffix is the whole point of this part: a two-wire sensor that accepts anything from 20 V AC to 300 V DC replaces three different DC-only sensors in mixed panels — wire it into a 220 V control circuit or a 24 V DC rail with the same two leads. Because a two-wire sensor sits in series with the load, respect the leakage/drop spec on the datasheet when driving PLC inputs with low thresholds. As a 30 mm non-flush barrel it needs its clearance around the face per the datasheet, and the rear terminal compartment keeps the wiring serviceable. The three bags here are factory-sealed with identical labels (Ident 25030125, Made in China) — genuine Turck Chinese production, photographed as received.
