What is the Eclipse 23045 electrode?

The ignition electrode for Eclipse gas burners, part number 23045 printed on the white ceramic in black with the Eclipse flash logo — ten pieces, factory-boxed, brand new. This is the spark plug of an industrial burner: a long alumina-ceramic stem that carries high voltage from the ignition transformer into the combustion chamber, a threaded metal mounting boss with its sealing washer for the burner housing, a spring socket on top for the ignition cable, and — visible at the tip in the photos — the dual-electrode end: a straight centre pin for the spark and a bent side electrode forming the spark gap. Recorded 31 December 2025 at about 0.5 kg as recorded, ten pieces, one-year warranty. Seven photos plus the warehouse video below.

Why electrodes die, and how to swap one

An ignition electrode fails in one of three ways, and all three are visible at the tip before the burner tells you. The ceramic cracks from thermal shock or an over-torqued mounting nut — a hairline in the insulator is enough to route the spark into the burner body instead of across the gap. The tip erodes: thousands of sparks pit the centre pin and round the side electrode, and the gap that started at the factory spec grows until the transformer can no longer jump it. Or soot bridges the gap, and the burner locks out on flame failure even though the spark is technically firing. When you fit this 23045, thread it in with the sealing washer under the boss (that washer is the pressure seal into the combustion chamber — reuse the new one, not the old crushed one), set the spark gap to the burner manual's dimension before final tightening, and route the ceramic clear of the flame envelope. The spring socket on top takes the ignition cable's push-on clip; a loose clip here arcs at the terminal and mimics a bad coil. All ten pieces photographed here are unused, with factory-crisp printing and unburred electrode tips.
