EZT-NDR-42L EZI-STEP Step Driver: Complete Technical Guide for Industrial Automation

What is the FASTECH EzT-NDR-42L stepper driver?
The EzT-NDR-42L is FASTECH's networked microstepping driver from the Ezi-STEP Plus-R family — a closed-loop-ready stepper drive that hangs on an RS-485 bus: the dual RJ45 ports (RS485 IN / RS485 OUT) chain up to 31 axes on one cable run, with baud rates from 9,600 to 921,600 bps set on the SW2 switches. This record is a lot of four units in clean second-hand condition, 3-month warranty as recorded — two from a December 2025 intake (serials 1207F6NTD1205 and 1207F6NTD1212) and two from May 2026 (1207F6NTD1195 and 1207F6NTD1201), each labelled Ezi-STEP EzT-NDR-42L, FASTECH, MADE IN KOREA, with two DB26 mating headers included. All twenty-five photos and the two inspection videos show these exact drives.

Why network steppers change the wiring game
A conventional stepper driver wants a pulse train per axis — one pair of wires for steps, one for direction, times every axis in the machine, all length-matched and noise-managed. The Plus-R family replaces that with one bus: the controller talks RS-485 to each drive by its ID, and the drives run their own profiles locally. That is what the silkscreen on this unit maps out — the RS485 pin block for the bus, the ID Display and Selector that give each axis its address, the SW2 bank that sets the baud rate and the bus termination — and it is why a machine built on these can add an axis with an RJ45 patch cable instead of a loom. The 26-pin IN/OUT connector keeps the hard-wired side where it belongs: the limit and origin switches feed in, the comparator and general outputs feed out, and the brake pair drives a motor brake from the dedicated 24 V rail.
The four units in this lot are the same 1207F6NTD production wave within a few serial numbers of each other — 1195 and 1201 from the later intake, 1205 and 1212 from the earlier — all in the anodised rose chassis with the mounting flanges and heatsink base intact, the LED and rotary ID windows unmarked, and the power lead sets still dressed. As test-bench spares for a Plus-R machine they drop straight in: set the ID, set the bus speed to match the controller, and the axis is back.
