Omron CJ1W-AD081-V1 Analog Input Module: Comprehensive Technical Guide for PLC Systems

Pre-shipment Inspection Record: This document details the visual and technical inspection of the Omron CJ1W-AD081-V1 Analog Input Module: Comprehensive Technical Guide for PLC Systems. All product photos and testing videos below are original materials captured first-hand by the Koeed technical team in our warehouse prior to dispatch.

What this delivery is: two Omron CJ1W-AD081-V1 analog input units, new in the factory boxes, received 2026-02-09, 0.5 kg for the pair, one-year warranty. The CJ1W-AD081-V1 is the eight-point A/D unit for the CJ-series PLC backplane: eight analog inputs, each configurable across 1–5 V, 4–20 mA, 0–5 V, 0–10 V or −10 to +10 V, converting to the CPU over the CJ bus. The box labels and the unit's own rear print agree on the identity — TYPE CJ1W-AD081-V1, Lot No. 240728N, Batch No. 501198597, NK APP <02A001> — and the origin line reads OMRON MANUFACTURING OF THE NETHERLANDS B.V., MADE IN THE NETHERLANDS. Both boxes carry the same lot, barcode 4536854912931, and the KC certification mark KCC-REM-OMR-CJ1W-00010.

What the unit carries

The front face is the commissioning panel: RUN, ERC and ERH status LEDs, the ADJ indicator, the B1/A1 markers for the rotary MACH No. switches (×10 and ×1) that set the unit number on the backplane, and the terminal block below — eighteen screw terminals in two rows taking the eight input channels with their commons and shield. The rear face carries the full print block: the A/D UNIT designation with the five input ranges, the lot and batch codes, and the approvals field — CE, UL, cULus, KC, UKCA — with the industrial-control-equipment note for Class I Division 2 hazardous locations. The CJ backplane connector sits inside the case behind the removable cover: a double-row gold-plated block that seats the unit onto the CPU rack, and the voltage/current range is set per channel in the PLC software (DM area) rather than by DIP switches, which is the V1 revision's upgrade over the original AD081.

Why pairs of A/D units get bought

An analog input unit fails quietly — one channel drifts, then reads open — and the machine keeps running on the healthy seven until someone notices a temperature or pressure that no longer moves. Keeping a spare AD081-V1 on the shelf turns that into a fifteen-minute swap: unit number set on the rotary switches, ranges re-downloaded with the project, wires landed one terminal at a time. Two units is the fleet logic again — identical lot means identical calibration behaviour, so the spare behaves exactly like the one in the rack. When ordering, the V1 suffix matters: it is the current revision with the extended resolution and the software-configurable ranges; the original CJ1W-AD081 does not drop into the same configuration without re-doing the DM setup.
