What is the Airflex 4CB200?
The 4CB200 is a Vickers Airflex constricting clutch/brake element — the air-inflated ring, made by Danfoss, that closes inward around a rotating drum to couple or stop heavy machinery. This assembly carries part number 142840JB (revision A, built 05-2025), an eight-segment friction set marked 414361 inside the neoprene tube, an eight-hole mounting flange, and a brass 90-degree air fitting; the sleeve warns never to inflate it without the drum in place, maximum 110 PSI. It arrives as Danfoss shipped it — carton labelled 142840JB, quantity 1, with the O-ring kit bagged alongside and the burn-in warning label on the shell. One unit, new, 2 kg. All 9 photos and 1 video below show this exact element.

How a constricting element does its job
Airflex builds two families of pneumatic clutch: expanding (tube tires push outward onto an internal drum) and constricting — this one. The neoprene tube sits inside a steel rim; admitting air collapses it inward, pressing the eight friction segments against the outside of a rotating drum, and venting releases them instantly. That geometry makes the 4CB series the standard stop-and-hold element on dredges, presses, paper machinery and marine winches, where a fail-safe brake that grabs hard and releases clean matters more than fine modulation. The two labels on the shell carry the discipline the element demands: never inflate it free-standing — without a drum resisting, the tube balloons past its shape limit — and keep the pressure at or under 110 PSI. The orange Danfoss label adds the run-in rule the manual repeats: the lining must be worn in at reduced duty before the element sees full service torque, and the installation-and-operation manual lives at airflex.com under the 142840JB number. The moulded 414361 code inside identifies the friction segment set, so a rebuild orders linings by that number and keeps the shell.
