Honeywell AWM5104VN Microbridge Mass Airflow Sensor: Complete Technical Guide
On this page
What is the Honeywell AWM5104VN?
The AWM5104VN is a Honeywell Microbridge thermal mass air-flow sensor mounted in a moulded flow tube — the complete drop-in flow module: threaded ports both ends under blue dust caps, a venturi waist in the tube where the Microbridge chip samples the flow, and the Honeywell electronics block on top with an 8-pin header marked IN / GND / OUT. The listing rates it at 20 L/min on NPT threads. The record covers 5 modules, new in Honeywell boxes (batch DJY0942, box code 2520 / 102785863, made in China, static-sensitive labelled). All 15 photos and 1 video below show these exact units.

How the Microbridge measures flow
The sensing trick sits in the venturi waist: gas accelerates through the narrowed bore, and a Microbridge chip — two resistors bridge-mounted on a thin membrane — sits in that stream. The chip holds one resistor slightly heated; moving gas carries heat from the upstream element to the downstream one, and the electronics block converts that imbalance into a voltage on the OUT pin proportional to mass flow. Because the measurement is thermal, the reading is a mass flow, not just a velocity, so pressure and temperature swings matter far less than they would to a paddle or vane meter. The 8-pin header carries supply, ground and the output (the silkscreened IN / GND / OUT on the module face), and the moulded tube gives the chip a fixed geometry so the calibration printed for the 20 L/min rating holds without field plumbing. Matching the wiring connector is where the AMP literature sheet in each box helps — it catalogues the latch-detente housing system that mates the header. KOEED lists this sensor directly: see the AWM5104VN product page.
