CNC handwheels and manual pulse generators let an operator command controlled axis movement. A pendant may add axis selection, an enable control or an emergency-stop button, but the included functions depend on the model.

For replacement, identify the CNC system's supported signal interface and the pendant connection. A pendant described as “6-axis” does not by itself establish that it will work with a particular controller. Motor amplifiers are listed separately under servo drives.
