What is the Y.S. TECH FD124028EB-P fan?

The FD124028EB-P is Y.S. TECH's 40 × 40 × 28 mm DC brushless axial fan — the deep-frame 40 mm format that electronics enclosures use when a standard 25 mm-thick fan cannot move enough air. The hub label reads it plainly: Y.S. TECH, DC BRUSHLESS FAN, FD124028EB-P, DC 12 V, 0.78 A, cULus, MADE IN CHINA, with a three-lead connection (red supply, black return, yellow tach) on a white 3-pin plug. This record is a lot of two factory-sealed fans, new, one-year warranty as recorded at intake on 4 January 2026. All seven photos and the inspection video show these exact fans.

Why the deep 40 mm frame earns its place

A 40 mm fan has a hard job: small diameter means low tip speed, so airflow per millimetre of thickness is precious. The 28 mm-deep frame is the answer — more blade span for the same footprint, which is why dense power supplies, optical modules and compact controllers specify the 4028 format over the common 4025 or 4020. The tach lead is the other part of the spec that matters in service: the yellow wire pulses twice per revolution back to the host board, so the system knows the fan is spinning before it trusts the thermals. At 0.78 A this unit draws under ten watts — a corner load for any 12 V rail.

The two fans in this lot arrived as sealed Y.S. TECH units: hub labels clean and matching, the three leads dressed into their white 3-pin plugs, and the seven-blade rotors spinning free in their frames. For a 4028 slot on a power supply or controller board, they drop in as exact-replacement spares.
