Festo GRP-160-PK-4 12961 Precision One-Way Flow Control Valve: Complete Technical Guide
On this page
What this delivery is: nineteen Festo GRP-160-PK-4 precision one-way flow control valves, material number 12961, brand new, with a one-year warranty — the record carries two purchase lines, six units received 2026-02-02 as bagged kits and thirteen units received 2026-03-14 in sealed Festo boxes, all one lot of the same part. The boxed thirteen are the clearest to identify: each white box carries the FESTO label — GRP-160-PK-4, Mat. No. 12961, Series 10-2025:23, 1 piece(s), Precision one-way flow control valve — and the side print names Festo SE & Co. KG, DE-73734 Esslingen, Made in India. The first six arrived as individually bagged kits: valve body, brushed-metal mounting plate and two socket-head screws per bag.
How the valve is built
The GRP is Festo's precision one-way flow control valve — the meter-out fitting you put on a cylinder's exhaust port when the stroke speed has to be exact rather than merely adjustable. The body is a black composite knob with a graduated ring from 0 to 10 and the FESTO 12961 marking on its face; a slotted screw in the centre sets and holds the position. Air enters through one of the twin brass studs on the metal faceplate and flows freely in one direction; reversed, it must pass the needle the knob positions, which is where the fine control happens. The separate mounting plate — a brushed disc with two fixing holes, a keyhole slot and the GRP-160-PK-4 12961 label of its own — lets the valve sit panel-mounted instead of hanging on its plumbing, and each bagged kit includes the two mounting screws.

Why nineteen of one fitting
Flow controls are set-and-forget parts, which is exactly why they disappear from stock: nobody notices the drawer is empty until a cylinder starts slamming and the line is down. A nineteen-piece buy in one material number is maintenance-stock logic for a plant with a bank of identical pneumatic stations — every cylinder station gets its meter-out fitting from the same drawer, and the set-point marked on the knob scale (0–10) reads the same from valve to valve. The two-batch history is ordinary replenishment: six in February, thirteen in March, same part, same material number, one from an Esslingen-labelled Indian build and all boxed units Series 10-2025:23.
