IFM IG0012 Inductive Proximity Switch: Comprehensive Guide for Industrial Automation
On this page
This IG0012 delivery contains ten new Chinese replacement sensors according to the sales record dated 14 January 2026. The photographed boxes and opened sensor carry ifm/efector markings and the full type IGA2008-ABOA. The body prints 8 mm and 20–250 VAC/DC, with a brown/blue two-wire circuit. The origin wording on the goods is Made in Germany; it is reported alongside the record's replacement classification.
Identification and delivery details
Ten labelled boxes sit inside the shipping carton. One opened unit has a long metal threaded barrel, a pale sensing end, a fixed black cable, a yellow indicator window and two loose mounting nuts in a small bag. Close photographs show the full type, ratings and connection drawing on the black sleeve. The exposed cable end has brown and blue conductors.
The box label prints IP65, 250 mA and SCP, while the body prints short-circuit protection. These are photographed markings, rather than independently verified performance claims. Current original ifm data lists IP67, distinguishes AC from DC current ratings, and says the original IG0012 is not short-circuit proof. That discrepancy matters when buying this recorded replacement lot; the label's broad 250 mA statement should not be applied unconditionally to a DC circuit.

| Connection drawing | Two wires: BN and BU, with load in series; L1/L+ and N/L− shown |
| Packaging protection wording | IP65 and SCP; body says short-circuit protection |
| Original-product discrepancy | ifm original data lists IP67 and no short-circuit-proof protection; do not infer identical replacement performance |
| Construction shown | Threaded metal barrel, fixed cable, pale sensing face, yellow indicator and two nuts |
| Origin and classification | Goods print Made in Germany; sales record explicitly says new Chinese replacements |
| Lot details | 10 units; 14 January 2026; recorded weight 0.5 kg |

Evidence: body and box photographs below. For the original model, ifm IG0012 technical data identifies a normally-open, two-wire AC/DC sensor, M18 × 1, with separate current limits and protection requirements. It does not certify this replacement lot.
Matching this part
Use IG0012 and IGA2008-ABOA together when requesting a match. Confirm the fixed-cable arrangement, existing load circuit, thread and mounting clearance. The photographed device is a two-wire AC/DC switch, so the old description of a conventional three-wire PNP output is not a useful wiring guide.
Before accepting a replacement, resolve the protection and rating discrepancies with the supplier and check the actual offered unit against the machine's requirements. These photographs show identity and construction, without documenting an energized test.
Photos and recorded media

Recorded inspection clip. The clip is retained as delivery evidence; no performance measurement is inferred from it.
