Kluber Lubrication Kluberalfa YV 93-1202 PFPE Grease — 1 kg (2.2 lb)
Kluber · Kluberalfa YV 93-1202 · High-Vacuum PFPE Grease · In stock
Kluber Kluberalfa YV 93-1202 is a fully-synthetic, high-purity perfluoropolyether (PFPE) grease thickened with PTFE, manufactured by
Kluber Lubrication in Germany. It is engineered for bearings, linear guides, valves and gear couplings running in
high-vacuum, oxygen-rich, plasma and reactive-gas environments
where hydrocarbon or silicone lubricants would outgas, carbonise or react. KOEED stocks the 1 kg (2.2 lb) cartridge for OEM build-out and after-sales replenishment on
Allen-Bradley,
Siemens,
Mitsubishi,
Omron,
Fanuc,
Schneider,
Yaskawa,
Panasonic and
KEYENCE equipment lines.
Key Technical Specifications & Overview
The YV 93-1202 is built on a PFPE base oil that is chemically inert to most aggressive media — oxygen, chlorine, hydrogen chloride, ammonia, halogens and plasma — making it the default lubricant for the load locks, transfer chambers and robotic axes of semiconductor fabs. It is NSF H1 registered for incidental food contact, so it is also specified on pharmaceutical and food packaging lines driven by
Allen-Bradley CompactLogix and
Siemens SIMATIC cells.

Application Scenarios & Where It Fits
Kluberalfa YV 93-1202 is specified wherever hydrocarbon oils would fail — either because they outgas into the process, react with the gas chemistry, or carbonise at the bearing running temperature. The most common duty points we see quoted through
BOM requests at KOEED are:
-
Semiconductor front-end equipment — wafer-handling robot axes (driven by
Yaskawa and
Mitsubishi servo motors), load-lock and transfer-chamber bearings, ion-implanter rotation feeds, plasma-etch chamber door seals, ALD/CVD chamber rotation stages.
-
Vacuum & pump systems — turbomolecular and cryopump bearing pre-lube, scroll-pump tip-seal lubrication, rotary-vane pump bearing reservoirs on
Allen-Bradley-controlled roughing lines.
-
Oxygen & reactive-gas service — O&sub2;, N&sub2;, Cl&sub2;, NH&sub3;, HCl, HBr and plasma-compatible valve stems, regulators and fittings. BOG (boil-off gas) compressor bearings on LNG and specialty-gas cabinets.
-
Pharmaceutical & food processing — conveyor bearings, filling-machine slides, blister-pack tooling, steriliser-internal gear drives, all driven by
Siemens SIMATIC and
Omron SYSMAC control cabinets where the line runs open or in Class 100 / ISO 5 clean zones.
-
Paint & coating lines — oven conveyor bearings, powder-coat cure-oven chains, e-coat tank agitator gearboxes running at 180–220 °C.
-
CNC machine tools & robotics — spindle bearings and tool-changer cam followers on
Fanuc-controlled machining centres, linear-guide blocks on
Panasonic welding cells, vision-guided pick-and-place axes running KEYENCE inspection.
-
Cleanroom-compatible drives — servo-amplifier cabinets, fan-cooled drives, harmonic-drive gearheads from
Schneider Lexium families.
Integration Notes — Compatibility with Elastomers, Paints & Metals
Although the YV 93-1202 is not an electrical module, the integration "wiring" question for a grease is whether it is chemically compatible with the seals, paints, plastics and metals it will sit next to for the next 3–5 years of service. In our experience shipping into
Allen-Bradley,
Siemens and
Mitsubishi servo cabinets, this is the most overlooked failure mode.
| Elastomers — EPDM, FKM (Viton®), FFKM (Kalrez®, Chemraz®), NBR |
Compatible. PFPE is the reference lubricant for FFKM and FKM O-rings used on
Fanuc and
KEYENCE vacuum chambers; minimal swell, no extraction of plasticiser. |
| Plastics — PTFE, PEEK, POM (Delrin®), PE, PP, PA66 |
Compatible. Safe for plastic gear teeth, sliding pads and cable insulation commonly used in
Yaskawa Sigma-7 cable carriers and
Panasonic FP-X I/O housings. |
| Metals — carbon steel, stainless (304 / 316 / 440C), aluminium, bronze, brass |
Compatible. No galvanic attack on aluminium servo flanges or copper-bearing bronze gear blanks. Compatible with the hardened bearing steels inside
Omron NX-series gearheads. |
| Paints & powder coats — epoxy, polyester, polyurethane, anodised aluminium |
No softening or staining of standard industrial finishes. Avoid direct pool contact with freshly cured (less than 72 h) 2K polyurethane topcoats. |
| Reactive gases — O&sub2;, N&sub2;, Cl&sub2;, NH&sub3;, HCl, HBr, O&sub3; |
Inert. For pure-oxygen lines (above 1.4 MPa) we still recommend a dedicated
AI diagnostic review and BAAM-rating confirmation. |
| Not compatible with |
Strong Lewis acids, halogenated solvents above 50 °C, and fluorinated rubber grades not rated for PFPE. Do not mix with hydrocarbon or silicone grease — cross-contamination destroys the oxygen rating. |
Installation & Commissioning Tips
The YV 93-1202 is a finished lubricant, not a kit, but the way it is loaded on a
Siemens SINUMERIK spindle or a
Fanuc robot axis is the difference between a 24-month re-grease interval and an unplanned weekend call-out. These are the steps our integration team follows on every cell we ship through
our China sourcing arm:
-
Verify cleanroom discipline. Open the 1 kg cartridge only inside the clean zone where it will be used. Wipe the cartridge tip with PFPE-compatible isopropyl alcohol and load a fresh, lint-free nitrile or PTFE gasket on the dispense gun.
-
Purge the old grease. Pump the old lubricant out completely. PFPE / hydrocarbon cross-mixing destroys vacuum and oxygen performance. We provide purge-and-pack-out guidance for
Allen-Bradley Kinetix drives and
Mitsubishi MR-J4 servo gearboxes on request.
-
Apply the right volume. Fill the bearing housing to roughly 30–50 % of free volume. Over-packing causes the YV 93-1202 to churn and heat up; under-packing starves the contact zone at high RPM.
-
Run-in at low speed. Jog the axis for 5–10 minutes at 10–20 % rated RPM, then step up to 50 % and 100 % in two more intervals. Listen for any tone change — any rise in decibel reading beyond 3 dB indicates a seal or alignment problem, not a grease problem.
-
Commissioning log. Record date, ambient, axis, grease lot number and run-in time in the
commissioning log; KOEED can ship with a batch-coded COA on request to support your quality system.
-
Storage of the opened cartridge. Re-cap immediately, store at +5 to +30 °C, and use within 12 months. PFPE does not oxidise, but particulate ingress in a half-used cartridge is the most common cause of premature bearing wear we see from
KEYENCE vision cells and
Schneider PacDrive axes.
Procurement, Warranty & Lead Time
