The FRH555 is a half-wave rectifier brake module from UHT (Universal Halbleiter Technik) used to switch the electromagnetic holding brake on a VFD-driven motor or a servo motor. Rated 555 VAC input and 2 A DC output, the FRH555 takes the drive's AC control supply, half-wave-rectifies it, and feeds a DC voltage into the brake coil — releasing the brake when the drive is enabled and dropping power to the coil so the brake re-engages when the drive is disabled.

This is the spare that gets swapped when a hoist, crane, vertical axis or safety-rated servo brake fails to release (or fails to engage). UHT is the OEM fitted on many Yaskawa, Schneider and Allen-Bradley drive packages, and the FRH555 is the module most plants keep in their brake-system spares pool.
