Panasonic MBMK022BLN — MINAS A4 / A5 Series AC Servo Motor, 200V, 200W, Keyway Shaft
Panasonic · MINAS A4 / A5 · AC Servo Motor · 1PC · In stock
The Panasonic MBMK022BLN is a small-capacity, low-inertia AC servo motor from the
Panasonic
MINAS A4 / A5 family, rated at approximately 200W on a 200V AC bus. It is engineered to pair with
the MBDDT, MCDDT and MFDDT series servo drives from the same generation, making it a direct
replacement for legacy MINAS-A4 motors that are still running on
factory automation
lines worldwide. The MBMK022BLN ships as a single piece with a leadwire connector and a keyway
shaft ready for coupling to gearboxes, lead screws or direct-drive pinions.
KOEED stocks the MBMK022BLN as part of a broader
Panasonic MINAS
line of small-capacity servo motors and matching drives. Engineers maintaining equipment from
Allen-Bradley,
Siemens,
Mitsubishi,
Omron,
Fanuc,
Schneider,
Yaskawa,
Panasonic
and KEYENCE
can consolidate their BOM through one supplier and get the MBMK022BLN alongside spare CPU modules,
HMI panels and other drives on the same shipment.
Key Technical Specifications & Overview
The model code follows Panasonic’s MINAS convention: MB designates a
medium-frame, medium-inertia motor family; MK indicates a keyway shaft; the
022 segment marks the 200W power class; the trailing B denotes
the 200V AC bus; and the LN suffix specifies the leadwire connector. Below is the
standard datasheet view of the MBMK022BLN.

Application Scenarios — Where the MBMK022BLN Fits
The 200W power class, 5,000 rpm speed envelope and low rotor inertia make the MBMK022BLN well
suited to applications that demand fast acceleration, frequent start / stop cycles and precise
position control. The motor is widely found in the following environments:
-
Semiconductor pick-and-place — X / Y axis feed on die bonders, chip shooters and inspection stages.
-
SMT lines — conveyor indexing, nozzle rotation and tray feed on Yamaha-style placement heads.
-
Small CNC and desktop machining — auxiliary axes, tool changers and ATC turrets on compact mills.
-
Packaging machinery — film sealing jaws, label dispensing and carton-folding stations.
-
Medical and laboratory automation — pipetting heads, sample carriers, reagent dispensers.
-
Textile and printing auxiliary drives — dancer rollers, take-up reels, registration correction.
In a multi-brand line, the MBMK022BLN is commonly seen next to Omron CP1 / CJ2 PLCs
controlling the master sequence, KEYENCE vision systems for part inspection and Mitsubishi
GOT HMIs on the operator panel. KOEED can ship those complementary components on the same BOM
as the servo motor itself, so a single RFQ covers the full axis.
Integration & Wiring Notes
The MBMK022BLN is designed to plug into Panasonic MINAS A4 / A5 series drives without adaptation.
The most common drive companions are the MBDDT2210 (pulse-train command) and MBDDT2210P
(positioning type) for the 200V / 200W class. For applications requiring 400V bus or larger
frames, the same MBMK family scales up to the MBMK1xxx series; for 100V bus applications there
is a parallel MBMJ 100W class.
Wiring checklist for a clean installation:
-
Power leads (U / V / W): route in a dedicated cable tray, separate from encoder and signal lines, with a shield grounded at the drive end only.
-
Encoder cable: use the Panasonic-specified twisted-pair, shielded cable; keep the run under 20m to avoid signal degradation on the 17-bit / 23-bit feedback.
-
Brake wiring (if present): the LN variant uses a separate leadwire pair for the holding brake; switch through a dedicated 24V DC contactor and never parallel it with the motor power.
-
Drive grounding: bond the motor frame, the drive chassis and the cabinet PE bar with low-impedance conductors, following the
grounding notes
in the KOEED engineering library.
-
Controller handshake: confirm pulse command, direction and servo-on signal mapping against the master controller — Omron CP1H, Siemens S7-1200, Allen-Bradley MicroLogix and Mitsubishi FX5U all have published pulse-output examples that map cleanly to the MBDDT2210.
Engineers who are moving from a Yaskawa Sigma-II or a Schneider Lexium 05 to the Panasonic MBMK022BLN should review the pulse-per-revolution ratio, the
command-pulse logic and the alarm output mapping. KOEED keeps a side-by-side parameter

Installation & Commissioning Tips
A 200W servo motor is forgiving in size but unforgiving in alignment. The MBMK022BLN shaft is a
keyway type, which means a positive-locking coupling or pinion is required — slip-fit
couplers will not hold under repeated accel / decel. KOEED recommends the following practices on
every install:
-
Mounting surface: the motor base must sit on a flat, machined surface with the four mounting bolts torqued evenly in a star pattern to avoid case distortion.
-
Shaft alignment: verify parallel and angular misalignment with a dial indicator — target under 0.05mm. Misalignment shows up as Err12 (overcurrent) or Err34 (overspeed) on the MBDDT drive.
-
Key engagement: confirm the coupling key seats fully in the keyway before tightening the shaft-end bolt. A half-seated key will shear under the first rapid move.
-
Initial parameter set: load the matching MBMK022BLN parameters into the drive (motor code, encoder resolution, rated current) before issuing the first servo-on. Drives ship from Panasonic with generic defaults that do not match the 200W frame.
-
No-load test: run a 100 rpm / 500 rpm / 3000 rpm sweep with the shaft uncoupled to confirm direction, encoder feedback and absence of abnormal current draw.
-
Cooled environment: cabinet temperature should stay below 40°C. Above 40°C, derate the duty cycle or add forced-air cooling.
For tuning, Panasonic’s PANATERM software (free download) walks through auto-gain tuning,
notch-filter setup and vibration suppression. If the MBMK022BLN is being commissioned by a
third-party system integrator who is more familiar with
Fanuc
α-series servo amplifiers, KOEED can provide a parameter cheat-sheet on request.
Procurement, Warranty & Lead Time
KOEED operates an RFQ-based workflow for the MBMK022BLN. Pricing depends on quantity, encoder
variant, leadwire length and whether the order is paired with a compatible MBDDT / MCDDT drive.
Engineers can open a quote by emailing the model number and quantity to
Moritta@KOEED.COM,
or by submitting a full BOM through the
Create a Quote
form. Standard lead time for in-stock units is 3 to 5 business days for worldwide shipping
via DHL / FedEx / UPS, sourced through our
China sourcing
and Hong Kong logistics operation.
All MBMK022BLN units sold by KOEED are inspected for shaft runout, encoder count and insulation
resistance before shipment. Warranty terms follow the
return policy
and the
shipping policy
published on the site — typically a 12-month limited warranty against manufacturing
defects, with DOA units replaced on the next outbound shipment. KOEED is an independent
multi-brand distributor, not an authorized subsidiary of Panasonic, and supplies the motor
alongside comparable units from Yaskawa, Mitsubishi, Omron, Schneider and Siemens when
cross-references are needed.
