Sharp LQ133M1JW21 — 13.3" 1920×1080 Industrial-Grade LCD Panel
SHARP · TFT-LCD · Full HD (1920×1080) · 1PC
The LQ133M1JW21 is a 13.3-inch Full-HD (1920×1080) TFT-LCD panel originally
engineered by Sharp
(Japan; the LCD division is now under Hon Hai / Foxconn ownership) for industrial, medical and
professional display integration. The "M1" suffix marks the generation and "JW21" the variant, while
the panel delivers sharp full-HD imagery in a compact 13.3" diagonal — ideal for embedded
panel PCs, HMI operator stations, medical imaging carts and point-of-information kiosks. KOEED
sources industrial-grade display panels (LCD / OLED) used in
HMI,
medical monitor, machine vision, panel PC and kiosk applications — often mounted in the
same multi-brand cabinet as
Siemens,
Mitsubishi
or
Omron
PLCs, so you keep one supplier for the screen and the controller behind it.
1. Key Technical Specifications / Overview
The LQ133M1JW21 is a thin-film-transistor liquid-crystal display module with an integrated
WLED backlight, designed for the 13.3" industrial form factor. Below is the standard
parameter set as published in the manufacturer datasheet; KOEED confirms every panel against
this ledger before shipping, the same way we cross-check a
1756-L73
processor or a
Q02HCPU
CPU module against the original catalog.

2. Application Scenarios / Where It Fits
Full-HD 13.3" panels in the LQ133M1JW21 class are typically deployed where a compact,
bright, high-resolution display must survive 24/7 operation in cabinets running alongside
factory PLCs and motion controllers. Common placements we ship into:
-
Industrial panel PC & HMI operator station — 13.3" full-HD touch panel mounted on a fanless box PC, talking to a
Allen-Bradley
or
Siemens
PLC rack via EtherNet/IP or PROFINET.
-
Medical monitor & portable ultrasound cart — 1080p grayscale / color imaging at the bedside, paired with patient-side data acquisition.
-
Point-of-Sale (POS) & self-service kiosk — 16:9 display footprint fits standard kiosk bezels, anti-glare coating handles retail lighting.
-
Test & measurement instrument front panel — oscilloscope / spectrum-analyzer GUI with high pixel density for waveform clarity.
-
Machine-vision HMI — inspector-side display next to a
KEYENCE
or
Panasonic
vision system, showing pass/fail and overlay graphics.
-
Factory-floor HMI inside a
Mitsubishi
GOT /
Omron
NB-style cabinet — third-party panel upgrade where the OEM display is end-of-life.
-
CNC machine operator panel — replacement screen on a
Fanuc
or
Yaskawa
controller, where the original CRT/LCD has failed.
-
Gaming, casino & amusement machine — 1080p 60 Hz, robust WLED backlight rated for long duty cycles.
-
Mobile cart computer — ward-round cart, AGV dashboard, or warehouse picking cart where 13.3" hits the sweet spot between screen real-estate and chassis depth.
3. Integration & Wiring Notes
The LQ133M1JW21 is a bare LCD module, not a complete monitor — the integrator owns
the controller board, the touch overlay (if any) and the power sequencing. Plan these
points up front to avoid field surprises:
-
Interface choice. Confirm whether your host board outputs
eDP 1.2 / 2.0 (most modern x86 SBCs and many ARM boards) or 1-lane LVDS
(legacy industrial SBCs). The pin-out of the panel-side FPC connector is not
interchangeable between the two — spec the cable to match the panel's revision.
-
Touch overlay. If a PCAP or resistive touch is added, route the touch
controller USB / I²C away from the backlight driver to keep the capacitive noise
floor down. Optical bonding is recommended for medical and outdoor-indoor kiosk use.
-
Backlight power & dimming. The WLED driver takes a constant-current
feed (typical 20–35 mA per string). Provide PWM dimming from the host for
night-mode or burn-in mitigation; analog voltage dimming is supported on most Sharp
pin-outs.
-
Power sequencing. Apply logic-level signals only after the panel supply
rails are stable; inrush on the LED string can otherwise latch the T-CON into a bad state.
Follow the timing diagram in the datasheet's "Power Sequence" section.
-
EMI / shielding. For cabinets that also house a
Schneider
Modicon M340 CPU, an
Yaskawa
Σ-7 servo drive, or a
Fanuc
spindle amplifier, keep the LVDS/eDP cable under 200 mm inside the chassis and use
a grounded shield can over the T-CON.
-
EDID. Program the panel's EEPROM with the correct 1920×1080 60 Hz
EDID block, otherwise the host may default to a lower resolution and you will see soft
text on the operator screen.
-
ESD & handling. The polarizer is vulnerable to fingerprint acids
and to mechanical pressure. Use finger cots during assembly and avoid vacuum pick-and-place
nozzles on the active area.
4. Installation & Commissioning Tips
Field engineers typically integrate the LQ133M1JW21 into a sealed front-bezel assembly.
A few practices that save a return-trip to the customer site:
-
Pre-power checklist. Verify the FPC is fully seated in the connector
latch (the click is easy to miss), the backlight cable is on the correct polarity, and
the chassis ground stud is bonded to the panel's metal frame before applying power.
-
Burn-in & pixel audit. Run a 1920×1080 full-field test pattern
(white / red / green / blue / gray ramp) for 30 minutes at ambient temperature. Check
for stuck pixels, mura, and backlight bleed at the edges before signing off the build.
-
Thermal validation. The industrial −20 to +60 °C spec
applies at the panel's TC point, not at the bezel. In a sealed kiosk, add a thermistor
to the panel's rear and confirm the reading under worst-case solar load.
-
Mechanical stack-up. Keep a 0.5 mm gap between the panel and the
bezel to allow for thermal expansion; over-tightening the bezel screws can crack the
glass and create an intermittent column-line fault weeks later.
-
Touch calibration. If a PCAP overlay is bonded, perform a 9-point
calibration at the final operating temperature; cold-start calibration at 25 °C
will drift in a −20 °C freezer-room application.
-
Spare strategy. For lines that cannot afford downtime, hold two
LQ133M1JW21 panels on the shelf alongside your spare
CP1E-N40DR-A
and similar control spares. KOEED can stage a bonded pair for a single P.O. —
just send the BOM to
Moritta@KOEED.COM.
