1. Power down before insertion. The Series 90-30 backplane is live; always remove the terminal block, slide the module in or out with power off, then re-attach the terminal block before restoring field power.
2. Verify slot addressing. The IC693ALG391 is a "smart" slot module — the CPU reads the slot number from the backplane. The %AQ address in ladder logic must match the physical slot, or the writes will silently hit the wrong channel.
