Does a B&R X20 module code identify a complete control station?

No. A station consists of components with different functions, and the individual module code identifies a particular item. Record the complete X20 reference and required base or connection components. Verify the item function instead of treating the family label as a complete system specification.

What else may be needed besides the I/O module itself?

Check whether the installation also requires a terminal base, removable connector, network adapter or separate power component. Confirm each item against the station documentation and the quotation contents. An individual module should not be assumed to include a complete wired station.
