3. Integration & Wiring Notes
Treat the KJD20-2 as you would any VDE-rated appliance switch — respect the rating, the pin pitch, and the
enclosure. The KJD family ships in SPST, SPDT, DPST, and DPDT contact forms; the KJD20-2’s 4-pin footprint
covers the common SPDT and DPDT layouts, so always confirm the wiring diagram against the housing marking before
energizing.

Contact form & pinout: 4-pin SPDT = COM / NO / NC plus a mounting / earth tab; 4-pin DPDT
uses two parallel poles sharing the same snap action. Kedu marks the housing with a small wiring key —
bench-test with a continuity meter before mains connection.

Rating discipline: 16A is the resistive rating. For motor, transformer, or solenoid
loads, de-rate to the 4A inductive figure. A pump or compressor coil driven through this switch should sit well
inside the 4A envelope, or use a contactor downstream.

Mains wiring: use ferruled conductors of the gauge the original appliance manufacturer
specified. The KJD20-2 is intended for permanent-internal wiring inside an appliance or control box, not for
field replacement with hand-twisted wires.

Actuator travel: snap-action switches need a defined over-travel after the trip point. The
paddle, lever, or roller on a KJD20-2 must reach the full mechanical travel on each actuation, or the contacts
will sit in a partially engaged state and burn prematurely.

Mounting: snap-in or screw-mount depending on the KJD20 variant. Use the original equipment
bezel / cut-out when replacing inside an OEM product, since the front-of-panel IP rating is only as good as
that seal.

Pairing with controls: when the KJD20-2 sits in front of a PLC input, place a small RC snubber
or flyback diode across inductive loads (solenoids, contactor coils) and keep the switch on the low-current
side. For
Allen-Bradley
1756 or CompactLogix digital inputs the KJD20-2 will switch directly; for older 24V sink/source inputs respect
polarity as marked on the housing.

EMC / EMI: because the contact has 16A capability, route the switched conductors away from
analog signal wiring to
KEYENCE sensors or
Yaskawa Σ-7 encoder
feedback lines.

Conditioning the USED part: before installation, cycle the switch 20–30 times under no
load, confirm a clean snap, and inspect the pins for oxidation. This is part of the bench verification KOEED

4. Installation & Commissioning Tips
Field time is short when a machine is down. The KJD20-2 is a 10-minute swap, but the safety discipline around it
is the same as for any mains-rated switch. Use this sequence on a USED / TESTED unit.

Isolate and lock out / tag out (LOTO) the equipment. Confirm zero voltage at the switch
terminals with a known-good meter, not just a neon screwdriver.

Photograph the wiring on the switch you are removing. Pinout on a 4-pin Kedu KJD is not always
obvious from the housing, especially on a DPDT variant.

Compare the actuator type — paddle, rocker, plunger, lever, roller — against the
existing cam or push-rod geometry. Mixing the actuator style is the single most common cause of premature
failure on a replacement snap-action switch.

Seat the new KJD20-2 in the same orientation, refit the bezel, and torque the mounting hardware
to the OEM figure. Over-tightening the bezel on a snap-in variant will warp the housing and prevent full
travel.

Re-terminate the conductors with fresh ferrules. Do not re-use the old crimps on a USED /
TESTED unit — the new pins will not bite into a deformed ferrule.

Cycle under no load 20–30 times to confirm a clean snap and full travel. The Kedu
snap-action should give a crisp, single-throw feel; a mushy or ratcheting feel means the mechanism is damaged.

Energize on a soft-start (variac or DOL with upstream protection) and check for: (a) voltage
on the load side when the switch is closed, (b) zero voltage when open, (c) no warmth at the terminals after
5 minutes at full load.

Document the swap in the equipment log — date, part number (KJD20-2), serial where
