3. Integration & Wiring Notes
The right wiring / tubing strategy depends on which AP-43 family the unit belongs
to. The notes below cover the four interpretations.

Push-in fitting (Parker / generic) ā no electrical wiring. Cut the tube square, push it in until the collet clicks, and pull back gently to seat. For 1/4ā NPT ports, wrap with PTFE tape (2ā3 turns, clockwise) and torque to 8ā10Ā Nm.

5/2 solenoid valve (Asco Numatics) ā coil voltage must match the PLC output module. Common voltages: 24Ā VDC (sink/source from Siemens / Mitsubishi / Omron transistor outputs) and 110/230Ā VAC. Use a MOV or flyback diode on DC coils. Pilot air supply 2ā8 bar.

Pneumatic actuator ā double-acting cylinders need 5/3 closed-center valves; single-acting use 3/2. Always check the AP-43 actuator stroke against the original spec sheet to avoid over-travel.

1. Inspect the part
|
Compare the new AP-43 against the failed unit ā body color, port layout,
thread pitch, and any laser-etched date code. A 1Ā mm difference on the
port can mean two different OEMs.

2. Verify air quality
|
Confirm ISO 8573-1 class 7-4-2 (or better) filtration upstream. A clogged
FRL is the most common cause of ānewā AP-43 valves sticking within
a week of install.

3. Pressure-test
|
After install, ramp to working pressure in 1Ā bar steps and soap-test all
AP-43 threaded joints. A 30-second leak at 6Ā bar is the difference between
a stable line and a scrap-rate problem.

|
Measure coil resistance before energizing. An open coil on a 24Ā VDC AP-43
valve points to a transistor-output short upstream. Use the
