Cnlight ZW5D15W Z150 UV Lamp | UV Curing & Germicidal Source | KOEED

Cnlight ZW5D15W Z150 — Low-Pressure Mercury Amalgam UV Lamp

Cnlight (Beijing Cnlight / 雪莱特) · Z Series Amalgam UV Source · ~15W Class

The Cnlight ZW5D15W Z150 is a low-pressure mercury vapor amalgam UV lamp in the ~15W class, engineered by Beijing Cnlight Technology for stable 254nm output across a wide water- and air-temperature range. It is widely deployed in industrial process automation water treatment skids, surface sterilization conveyors, and semiconductor ultrapure-water loops. Cnlight is one of the largest Chinese UV light source manufacturers, and KOEED sources genuine Z-series lamps alongside the broader Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, Fanuc, Schneider, Yaskawa, Panasonic and KEYENCE spare-parts catalog.

Application Scenarios — Where the ZW5D15W Z150 Fits

The ZW5D15W Z150 sits in the “low-power / compact chamber” class of Cnlight’s Z-series. Amalgam dosing keeps 254nm output flat when the surrounding water or air temperature drifts, which is why the lamp shows up in skids that PLCs from Siemens, Allen-Bradley and Mitsubishi supervise on a daily cycle. Typical drop-in applications:

  • Municipal & building drinking water — point-of-entry UV reactors for apartment blocks, schools and hospitals.
  • Aquaculture & RAS recirculation — temperature-stable output helps when the sump swings from 8 °C in winter to 28 °C in summer.
  • Pharmaceutical & cosmetics process water — makeup-water polish loop ahead of RO storage.
  • Food & beverage surface sterilization — cap, bottle and conveyor disinfection tunnels.
  • Air-handling units (AHU) & duct-mounted UV — paired with a KEYENCE particle sensor for clean-room coil protection.
  • Ballast-water treatment systems on small commercial vessels, controlled by Schneider Modicon M340 / M580 PLCs.
  • Laboratory fume hoods & biosafety cabinets — ducted UV-C modules for after-hours bioburden control.
  • Semiconductor ultrapure water (UPW) — final-polish TOC-reduction stage.
  • HVAC / hospital isolation rooms — upper-room air disinfection modules.

In OEM skids the ZW5D15W Z150 is commonly supervised by an Omron CP1H or Panasonic FP-X PLC, with status running into a Yaskawa MP2300 or Fanuc 0i-MD HMI for alarm visualization.

Integration & Wiring Notes

The ZW5D15W Z150 is a lamp, not a smart device — all of the intelligence lives in the ballast, the 4–20 mA UV intensity probe and the upstream PLC. Plan the wiring before you mount the chamber.

  • Ballast matching. Use a Cnlight-recommended electronic preheat or instant-start ballast. Mismatched ballast impedance is the #1 cause of premature end-blackening on amalgam lamps.
  • Lamp leads. Keep the high-voltage leads as short as practical and route them away from the Modbus / RS-485 comm cable to the PLC to avoid conducted EMI on the analog UV signal.
  • Intensity probe. The silicon photodiode probe (matched to 254nm) outputs 4–20 mA proportional to irradiance. Land the shield at the PLC end only, and feed it into an analog input module — e.g. an Allen-Bradley 1756-IF8H or Siemens SM 1231 AI4 — not a digital input.
  • Earth grounding. Bond the lamp socket, ballast chassis and stainless chamber to a single earth point. Amalgam lamps can carry ~50 mA of earth-leakage current at end-of-life; a floating ground trips upstream RCDs.
  • Temperature monitoring. If the chamber runs above 40 °C, add a Pt100 on the quartz sleeve. The PLC should derate the “lamp-on” permissive when the sleeve overheats — this is a common interlock block on Cnlight’s reference ladder logic.
  • Alarm mapping. Map Lamp On, Lamp Fail, Low UV, High Temperature and Sleeve Fouled as discrete + analog signals into the PLC. KOEED can hand over a tested I/O list — request it via the contact page.
  • SCADA tags. If you publish tags to Ignition or WinCC, expose UV intensity (mW/cm²), lamp hours, and last-on timestamp so the maintenance team can plan relamping at 80% of rated life, not after a process trip.

Installation & Commissioning Tips

A UV lamp is consumable, so commissioning is mostly about proving the chamber, ballast and PLC interlock chain work together — and then capturing a clean baseline that future maintenance can be compared against.

  • Inspect before install. Cotton gloves only — fingerprints on the quartz sleeve become hot spots that age the lamp prematurely. Wipe with isopropyl alcohol if you do touch the glass.
  • Pre-warm the ballast. Amalgam lamps need 60–120 s to reach full 254nm output. Configure the PLC to hold the “treat as disinfected” permissive off for at least 90 s after lamp-on, or use the intensity-probe crossing a setpoint instead of a pure timer.
  • Record the baseline. Log lamp-on current, ballast voltage, UV intensity at full output, and sleeve temperature. Save the file with the serial number and ship a copy to KOEED for traceability — real-time records on the site use the same data set.
  • Quartz-s sleeve cleaning. Inline wiper or manual CIP with citric acid every 30–60 days depending on feed-water hardness. A fouled sleeve can drop UV transmittance 40% without changing lamp current at all.
  • Relamping procedure. Power off, cool 10 min, drain chamber to below lamp base, swap lamp, re-torque ceramic caps to manufacturer torque, re-baseline intensity. The PLC should reset the lamp-hours counter via a maintenance HMI faceplate, not a raw register write.
  • Spare-lamp storage. Keep spare ZW5D15W Z150 lamps in original foam, dry, < 40 °C, and rotate FIFO. Amalgam lamps have a 2-year shelf life; a 5-year-old spare typically starts 15–20% low.
  • Disposal. Low-pressure mercury UV lamps are hazardous waste in most jurisdictions. KOEED can put you in touch with a certified lamp-recycling partner — ask the engineering desk via the contact page.

Procurement, Warranty & Lead Time

Order Channel Create a Quote form or direct email to Moritta@KOEED.COM
Lead Time In-stock singles ship within 3 business days; bulk pallet quantities typically 2–3 weeks ex-Cnlight warehouse.
MOQ No minimum on samples; tiered pricing kicks in at 10 / 50 / 200 units.
Warranty 12-month limited warranty against manufacturing defects. Lamp-output degradation below 80% of initial intensity within the rated service life is treated as a warranty case.
Authenticity Sourced direct from Cnlight authorized channels. Each lamp ships in sealed Cnlight carton with lot number and date code. Avoid “white-box” UV lamps sold on open marketplaces — the amalgam pellet inside is hard to verify by eye.
Shipping Worldwide shipping via DHL / FedEx / UPS from Shenzhen + Hong Kong. Shipping policy on the site.
Bundled Sourcing Send your full BOM — the UV lamp plus the Allen-Bradley / Siemens / Mitsubishi / Omron / Fanuc / Schneider / Yaskawa / Panasonic / KEYENCE spares around it — and KOEED quotes the lot in one email. See About China Sourcing Company for how the team handles multi-brand BOMs.
Quotation SLA Quote within 24 hours on business days. RFQ subject line convention: RFQ — Cnlight ZW5D15W Z150 UV Lamp.
