1PC PL300 Angle Sensor — PL300 Series Tilt / Inclination Sensor
PL300 SERIES · TILT & INCLINATION · 0–360° · INDUSTRIAL-GRADE
The PL300 Angle Sensor is a panel-mount or chassis-mount industrial tilt / inclination
transmitter designed for continuous angular measurement on solar trackers, mobile equipment, crane booms,
AGV chassis, shipborne platforms and robotic joints. The PL300 series covers single-axis and dual-axis
variants with 0–360° measurement range and 4-20 mA / 0-10 V / RS-485 / CAN outputs, making it a
drop-in feedback device on
Allen-Bradley,
Siemens,
Mitsubishi,
Omron,
Fanuc,
Schneider,
Yaskawa,
Panasonic and
KEYENCE
controlled automation lines.
Important — generic P/N notice. The string “PL300” is used by several
sensor vendors (Cui Devices, Murata, TE Connectivity, and solar-tracker OEMs) and the connector
pinout, output type and mounting footprint differ between variants. To avoid shipping the wrong
device, please send a clear photo of the original nameplate and connector pinout to our sourcing
inbox before release. See Section 5 for the full confirmation checklist.

2. Application Scenarios — Where the PL300 Fits
The PL300 series is a general-purpose angle transmitter for harsh-environment industrial sites.
Below are the typical installations we see in
factory automation,
energy, and mobile-equipment projects. Pair it with a
1756-L73 ControlLogix processor,
a
Siemens S7-1200 CPU 1214C,
or any
Mitsubishi MELSEC-Q Q02HCPU
on the controller side to log tilt in real time.
-
Solar tracker positioning — feedback loop on single-axis and dual-axis photovoltaic arrays to keep panel azimuth and elevation locked against wind load.
-
Crane boom angle — safe-load indicator (SLI) and anti-two-block interlocks on mobile and tower cranes.
-
AGV / AMR tilt safety — chassis leveling on automated guided vehicles in warehouse and assembly cells.
-
Ship roll and pitch — dynamic positioning reference on offshore service vessels and inland barges.
-
Off-highway vehicle leveling — chassis and outrigger leveling on agricultural and construction machinery.
-
Mobile equipment cab tilt — operator-cab safety cutoff for forestry and material-handling equipment.
-
Robotic arm joint feedback — secondary absolute-angle reference on
Fanuc,
Yaskawa and
KEYENCE vision-guided cells.
-
Process control dampers and gates — blade position feedback on wastewater and chemical
Modicon M340 skids.
3. Integration & Wiring Notes
The PL300 family offers four output families. Confirm the output of your original unit before
quoting, then wire to the matching channel on the controller. Use shielded twisted-pair for
analog runs and 120 Ω termination on long RS-485 trunks.

Shielding & grounding. Ground the cable shield at the controller end only. Keep the
sensor cable at least 200 mm away from VFD power cables
(e.g. Schneider Altivar ATV320
or Yaskawa Varispeed CIMR-V)
to avoid common-mode noise. Where the sensor output is 0-10 V and the controller is > 5 m away, fit a
signal isolator at the cabinet entry.
4. Installation & Commissioning Tips
-
Mounting surface must be flat and rigid. The PL300 housing is calibrated to the
reference face — any twist in the bracket shows up as a static offset. Use a machined plate
or factory-supplied mounting kit.
-
Set the zero on a known-horizontal jig. Apply 24 VDC, wait 60 s for thermal
stabilization, then issue the zero command (Modbus register 0x0006 or analog “teach” wire,
variant dependent).
-
Watch the temperature window. Below −20 °C the electrolyte thickens
and the response slows by ~30 %; above +70 °C expect a small linear drift. Where the site
is unconditioned, ask for the extended-temperature variant.
-
Validate the loop at first power-up. With the sensor on the bench, sweep
0° / 30° / 60° / 90° and check the 4-20 mA current against
PLC Analog Calculator
expected values.
-
For solar tracker use — install the sensor on the moving frame, not the
fixed pier, and use a UV-resistant cable gland. Re-torque the mounting bolts every 12 months;
vibration is the #1 cause of slow zero drift in the field.
-
For crane / off-highway use — add a secondary mechanical limit switch
as a safety backup. The PL300 is the feedback, the limit switch is the interlock.
-
Spare strategy — for production lines running 24/7, KOEED recommends
keeping 1 spare PL300 in the panel with a sticker showing the calibrated zero — swap-and-go
is faster than re-zero on the tower. Keep the spare on the
real-time records
list so it is auto-refreshed.
5. Procurement, Warranty & Lead Time
PL300 is a generic P/N that overlaps across at least three vendor families
(Cui Devices industrial inclinometer, Murata SCA100T / SCA103T class, and solar-tracker-OEM
housings). The connector, output and calibration certificate differ between variants. To
avoid a wrong shipment, please send KOEED the following when requesting a quote:
- A clear photo of the original sensor nameplate (front and back).
- A photo of the connector or cable, with each pin / wire colour labelled.
- The output type in use (4-20 mA, 0-10 V, RS-485, CAN) — or the model code on the
instrument panel that drives it.
- The mounting footprint (M5 vs. M6, hole spacing) and the application (solar / crane / AGV /
ship) so we can recommend a cross-reference.
- Quantity per shipment, target landed country, and any required certifications (CE, UL, RoHS).
Once confirmed, KOEED will return a part-number-locked quote within 24 hours. The PL300 series
ships with a 12-month functional warranty, calibrated zero certificate, and worldwide shipping
via DHL / FedEx / UPS. For project volumes above 50 units per quarter we can hold buffer stock
in our Shenzhen bonded warehouse and release on call-off — ask
Moritta@KOEED.COM
for the call-off template. Cross-reference options against
KEYENCE LV-N11N
and Omron E2E proximity
families are available for adjacent sensing tasks.
