Q1: The newly installed AAE 5 HCA is "hunting" (superheat fluctuates wildly). How do I fix this?
A: TXV hunting is usually caused by incorrect sensing bulb installation. Ensure the bulb is tightly strapped to a clean, horizontal section of the suction line. For pipes larger than 7/8", mount the bulb at the 4 o'clock or 8 o'clock position (never at the bottom, as oil pooling will distort temperature readings). Always wrap the bulb securely with thermal insulation tape.

Q2: The evaporator is starving (high superheat, low suction pressure) despite opening the valve stem.
A: If adjusting the superheat stem does not increase flow, check for a restricted inlet liquid line filter drier, a plugged TXV inlet screen, or a loss of charge in the TXV power element head. Additionally, confirm that the system is not undercharged with R-22 refrigerant.

Q3: Can I use this "H" designated valve for R-404A or R-410A systems?
A: No. The "H" designation indicates the power element is specifically charged and calibrated for the pressure-temperature curve of R-22. Using it with different refrigerants will result in severe overfeeding or starving of the evaporator.
